How to Turn Off Epic Games Notifications

Want to stop the spam you’re receiving from Epic Games? You can limit messages from your friends, by email, or via the Epic Games launcher using the steps in this guide.
Epic Games might not have the back catalog as Steam, but it’s got plenty of games of its own for you to play, from Fortnite to Fall Guys. What happens if you’re trying to work and you’re being bombarded by notifications from the Epic Games launcher, however?
Thankfully, there’s a way to turn off Epic Games notifications to limit the spam from it. You can switch off notifications for games, special offers, and chat messages. We’ll explain how below.

You can disable these notifications in the Epic Games launcher via the chat settings menu.

- If you want to enable notifications again, tap the Do Not Disturb slider and place it in the off position.
Any changes you make to your chat messages on Epic Games will be activated immediately. You can reverse the changes by repeating these steps.
How to Unsubscribe from Epic Games Emails
If you’ve switched to a rival platform like Steam, you can unsubscribe from Epic Games messages entirely. Email messages, for instance, can be switched off from your Epic Games account settings.
To unsubscribe from Epic Games emails:
- Visit the Epic Games website from a PC, Mac, or mobile device.
- Press the Sign In button in the top-right and sign in using your Epic Games account credentials.
- Once you’ve signed in, hover over your account username and select Account from the drop-down menu.
- In the account settings menu, select Communications on the left.
- In the Communications Preferences menu, select Manage email messages and select what emails you wish to receive in each category.
- If you want to unsubscribe from all emails from Epic Games, make sure that the Yes, email me about Epic Games products, news, events and promotions checkbox is unchecked.
Any changes to your email subscription preferences will apply immediately. You can customize your settings by checking and unchecking certain emails in the Manage email messages section.
For instance, if you want to limit email messages to certain games (like Fortnite), make sure that only that checkbox (Fornite Emails) is enabled.
Gaming On Your Terms
Using the steps above, you can turn off Epic Games notifications that you’re not interested in seeing. New games and special offers are particularly tiresome, but you can also limit messages from chat messages. You can even appear offline on Epic Games if you need to.
Want to take things a step further? You can uninstall the Epic Games launcher at any point on your PC or Mac. You may lose access to certain features, however, especially if you still have some games installed. If you still need your gaming fixes, you can always set up a wishlist on Steam for new games instead.
